Jessie Mae Kersting, 84, of Cody, passed away at home in the early hours of Sunday, June 26, 2011 after a sudden illness.

Jessie was born on December 28, 1926 in Ten Sleep. She had also lived in Powell before moving to Cody.

She was preceded in death by her husband Hubert in 2005, her son Dewey, her sister Stella, and her parents.

Jessie is survived by her son Allan D. (Shannon) Kersting and her grandson Allan L. Kersting of Cody, sisters Margaret of Powell and Dorothy of Worldan, a brother in Arizona, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at Ballard Funeral Home on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 10am with Pastor Don Barrus officiating. Visitation will be held from 9-10am prior to the service. Sharing your memories of Jessie would be very welcome. Following the service, cremation will take place and inurnment will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Powell at a later date.
