Troy Dean Gist, the son of James “Jim” and Ann (Sims) Gist was born on September 1, 1961 in Casper, WY. He graduated from high school in Denver, and went on to attend junior college in Littleton, CO.

While in Colorado, Troy was employed in the restaurant business before going to work in both residential and commercial construction. He was involved with not only building, but also remodeling homes and business. Troy moved to Cody a few years ago, and continued in the building industry.

Troy was a former member of the Mississippi Avenue Baptist Church in Denver.

Grateful for having shared his life are his mother, Ann Gist of Cody; a brother, Terry (Anette) Gist of Aurora, CO; aunts, Marion Smith of Cody, Judy (Keith) Skatrud of Casper; uncles, Graham (Vera) Sims of Billings, MT, Dick (Sharon) Gist of Lander, WY; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim, and grandparents, P.D. and Eva Sims, and Henry and Grace Gist.

The family has requested that memorials be directed to the Special Olympics and Cody Bible Church.
